Meet Kate - Owner and Innkeeper, and her daughter Sydney - Assistant Innkeeper.
Kate has always dreamt of owning a bed and breakfast, but never thought it was possible. After many hours of researching just to pass the time, she became very determined. Upon telling a very influential and well established person in her life, he said he started with a notebook. Kate proceeded to tell Sydney that, that evening. She arrived home the next day with a notebook on her bed, with the first page reading a note from Sydney. The note encouraged her to follow her dreams and remind her that “where there’s a will, there’s a way”.
Needless to say, Kate did follow her dreams and realized everything she had done in her life had come full circle. With a background in interior design, property management, and restaurant ownership, she knew she had the perfect set of skills to be an Innkeeper. Sydney, who has received a bachelor's degree in Hospitality and Tourism, was the missing piece to make the dream come true. With her husband as a contractor and son as a landscaper, she knew she had all the key players.
Kate took a chance on a house that she fell in love with in the area, which had never been a bed and breakfast. The drive up the driveway was magical enough to know that it was right. This 1845 historical house was the perfect fit for her vision of a twist on your typical bed and breakfast. With a mix of rustic and boho, she played to the home's original features. Little did she know when purchasing this home, just how rich in history it is.
Upon arrival, you will see and feel the historical features and stories this house holds. This beautiful home nestled on top of a hill, just steps from the falls, is truly a dream come true. Willenaway is operated by three generations of women. Kate is the Owner and Innkeeper of the Bed and Breakfast. Sydney is the Assistant Innkeeper, and Mimi is the smiling face you will see every morning at breakfast!
